The Graduate Online Teaching Certificate combines an online course and other activities to provide novice instructors with a solid foundation to practice effective online teaching.
OL 2050 is a starting point to embark on the Online Faculty Development Certificates. Activities focus on discussion management, assessment techniques, learning activity development, reflective practice, and planning for future development and community-building.
Designed to introduce you to the essentials of online teaching and learning, this course is “asynchronous.” While there will be assignments due at specific times each week, you can log on and learn according to your schedule. It includes a synchronous webinar that will act as a check-in to see how things are going in the course and provide an introduction to the rest of the course and a team activity that will begin midway through it.
