How do you motivate students to stay engaged with your course? What strategies do you use to help students persist and succeed? In the online environment, this is particularly important because there is a greater risk of attrition. In this webinar, we’ll look at various research-based strategies that drive motivation and discuss how they can be applied to the online or blended learning environment. We’ll also present a couple of motivational models that can be used in designing learning activities. There will be opportunities for the audience to share what they do to motivate students – what has worked for you?

Webinar presenters will be Paula Bigatel and Louise Sharrar, instructional designers.

Register here! Please choose “[11/21/16 – 11/21/16] Webinar 016: Motivation and Student Engagement” from the event drop down list.  Registration will close on Friday, November 18. How PSU Libraries supports your teaching your students’ learning

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

2:00 – 3:00 p.m. ET

This webinar will discuss the possibilities for library inclusion in your online courses. World Campus students or residential students who are taking an online course have similar access to library resources and services as residential students. However, a lack of awareness can inhibit students from using the library in their courses. A recent meeting even revealed that students pay for access to articles and books that the library can provide to students! Library instruction can take on a variety of forms and this webinar will highlight ways that library services, resources, and instruction can be incorporated in your online class. From an online orientation to the library to more in-depth instruction at higher levels the library can become a valuable partner in your online instruction. This webinar will be presented by Rebecca Miller, Department Head, Library Learning Services and Victoria Raish, World Campus, Online Learning Librarian.

Register here! Please choose “[09/21/16-09/21/16] Webinar 014: Library Services” from the event drop down list.  Registration will close on Monday, September 19. At that time you will receive the Adobe link to access the meeting space. All webinars are recorded and posted on our website for future viewing.
