OL 3100: Teaching the Adult Learner

OL 3100 is a course that explores the adult learner at Penn State. It is designed to provide you with a basic understanding of the adult learner and to assist instructors with effective teaching methodologies.

Course Goals

The goal of OL 3100 is to provide online instructors with a framework for:

  • understanding how adult learners differ from traditional 18- to 22-year-old college students
  • engaging adult students to improve learning outcomes
  • promoting effective interaction with adult students
