The Graduate Online Teaching Certificate combines an online course and other activities to provide novice instructors with a solid foundation to practice effective online teaching.
OL 2050 is a basic starting point to embark on the Online Faculty Development Certificates. Activities focus on discussion management, assessment techniques, developing learning activities, reflective practice, and planning for future development and community building.
Designed to introduce you to the essentials of online teaching and learning, this course is “asynchronous”; while there will be assignments due at specific times during each week, you can log on and learn according to your schedule. It includes a synchronous webinar that will act as a check-in to see how things are going in the course, and provide an introduction to the rest of the course, along with a team activity that will begin midway through it.
