Although career advising is not the primary role of an academic adviser, holistic academic advising involves more than just course selection. Students ask academic advisers career-related questions like which major to choose. While you are not assigned to career advising, you will likely encounter common career-related questions from students.
The purpose of this training is to:
- inform the career conversations you have with students
- support you in identifying suitable referrals to career professionals at your campus
- provide a professional development opportunity for you
